But after reading the work of these black feminists, I realized that this was far from the truth. Feminists did not hate men. In fact, they loved men. But just as my father had silenced my mother during their arguments to avoid hearing her gripes, men silenced feminists by belittling them in order to dodge hearing the truth about who we are.

“I wish that more women realized and/or took into account that I (and other men) find intelligence to be a very attractive quality. I often just want to have a good conversation with people, and some women seem to tone down their intelligence since they perceive that men will find them more attractive if they act dumb.
As for question two, I do not need the female sex as a whole to do anything specific to make my life better.”

Instead of being defensive and dismissing the problem as our being too emotional/sensitive, they should take more responsibility for their actions when such issues arise, or ask us what is making us upset (we’re allowed to have a bad day every now and then!)
